
Motorist Suffers Major Injury in Crash on State Route 70
SPRING GARDEN, Calif. (March 21, 2023) — A major injury crash happened Tuesday morning on Highway 70, near Spring Garden Depot Road just west of Spring Garden.
The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene with paramedics around 7:03 a.m. on March 21st, near Greenhorn Ranch, according to the California Highway Patrol.
They located a Ford Ranger on its side and blocking the westbound lane. Also, a driver or passenger in the vehicle suffered a major head injury in the crash. They requested a helicopter land in the area and transport the injured person to a trauma center.
It’s unknown at this time if any other motorists were involved.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case to determine what caused the crash on Highway 70 as well as liability. As part of the investigation, police should be photographing the area to determine if there was a dangerous condition present such as a pot hole or if the weather was a contributing factor.
