Major Injury Crash on Redwood Road, Lessley Avenue in Castro Valley

HAYWARD, Calif., (August 2, 2026) — A major injury crash in Castro Valley involving a blue Honda Civic and a black Nissan occurred early Sunday morning at Redwood Road, north of Lessley Avenue.
The incident was reported on Aug. 2nd at approximately 2:09 a.m., when the vehicles reportedly collided, blocking lanes and causing significant disruption in the area. According to the California Highway Patrol, both vehicles were initially obstructing the lanes, but the black sedan was later moved, allowing partial traffic flow.
Emergency responders, including paramedics and local fire services, arrived promptly at the scene. The involved vehicles, a blue Honda Civic and a black Nissan, sustained substantial damage, and occupants reportedly suffered major injuries. Details of the injuries are currently under investigation, and the identities of those involved have not been released at this time.
Jack James Tow was dispatched to assist with vehicle removal, while authorities worked to clear the roadway. The collision was initially categorized as a hit-and-run with no injuries, but was later updated to a major injury traffic collision.
