LAYTONVILLE, Mendocino County (December 29, 2016) – A major injury collision occurred on Highway 101 Thursday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
CHP received a call about a gray Honda and a white 4-door sedan which collided head-on on the highway shortly before 1:30 p.m.
As per the report log, the leg of a person inside the Honda was pinned while another suffered moderate facial injuries. The third passenger was apparently unharmed.
Paramedics responded to the scene to extricate the trapped occupant and attend to the wounded parties. An air ambulance was requested for transport.
Meanwhile, the dispatch mentioned that both vehicles sustained major front-end damage following the crash. Authorities will continue to investigate to determine liability.
