MOKELUMNE HILL, California (July 15, 2016) – A major injury collision occurred in the area of Highway 26 and Highway 49 on Friday night, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
The crash, which was described as a head-on, took place about 7:50 p.m., near Mokelumne Hill Elementary School.
As per the dispatch, a witness said a silver SUV, a green Ford Explorer and a gray sedan were seen in the roadway following the incident. Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene to attend to at least one seriously injured person in the wreck.
An air ambulance was requested to transport the victim to the hospital for further medical aid.
Authorities will continue to investigate the cause of the incident.
