MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., (June 8, 2026) — A major injury motorcycle crash Friday night involving three vehicles occurred on northbound Highway 101 near the Amphitheatre Parkway offramp in Mountain View, California.
At approximately 7:19 p.m. on June 5th, authorities responded to the scene where a red Honda sports bike collided with a gray Tesla in lane 2 and 3, causing the rider of the motorcycle to be thrown onto the roadway. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) classified the incident as a major injury collision. A third vehicle was also involved, the report said.
Emergency personnel, including paramedics, were dispatched to the scene. The injured motorcyclist, whose identity has not been released, was lying in lanes 1 and 2, reportedly suffering from severe injuries. The Tesla was blocking lane 3, contributing to traffic congestion in the area.
Efforts to clear the scene were underway, with National Towing called to remove the damaged motorcycle. Meanwhile, traffic was temporarily diverted to ensure the safety of first responders and prevent further incidents.
The CHP is currently investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision, and they urge any witnesses to come forward with information that could aid their investigation.
