Major Injury North Highlands Crash on Myrtle Avenue, Near Walnut Ave

NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. (Jan. 7, 2026) — A person was seriously injured after becoming trapped beneath a car Wednesday morning following a crash on Myrtle Avenue in the North Highlands area of Sacramento County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicle crash was reported on Jan. 7th at approximately 10:25 a.m. in front of 5151 Myrtle Avenue. CHP logs indicate the collision involved a black Nissan Sentra and a white SUV. Following the impact, one person from the Nissan had become pinned underneath but remained conscious, authorities said.

Fire crews were dispatched to the scene and worked to extricate the trapped individual. The person was reported to be awake during rescue efforts, though the extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

At least one of the vehicles sustained major front-end damage, and a tow truck was requested to remove the damaged vehicle from the roadway. Emergency responders remained on scene for an extended period while the rescue and investigation continued.

No additional injuries were reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
