UPDATE: Pedestrian Hit on Fletcher Parkway has Died

LA MESA, Calif., (May 13, 2026) — A major injury pedestrian accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon near 8125 Fletcher Parkway near Costco at Marengo Avenue in La Mesa.

The traffic accident occurred at approximately 12:23 p.m. on May 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to help the person who suffered major injuries, but traffic investigators from the La Mesa Police Department were reportedly unavailable at the time of the incident. The CHP later updated the report noting it was a fatality crash.

The pedestrian’s name and age have not been released, and authorities have not provided information about the vehicle involved in the collision.

The incident remains under investigation by the authorities, who are seeking any witnesses to come forward with information that could assist in their inquiries.
