Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 41 Near Oakhurst
Oakhurst, CA (May 21, 2025) — A major injury collision involving a jackknifed semi-truck and a silver sedan shut down State Route 41 near Road 630 late Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. on May 21st between Fish Camp and Oakhurst. CHP dispatch indicated that at least one person was trapped inside a 2012 Toyota Prius and required extrication with the Jaws of Life by responding firefighters. Emergency crews, including EMS and Cal Fire, were dispatched to the scene and transported the driver, a 32-year-old Albany man, to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with major injuries.
Truck Jackknifes on Highway 41
A Pepsi semi-truck was reported to have jackknifed, overcorrected, and struck the Prius. Tow trucks were called for heavy-duty recovery, and Caltrans was notified to assist with traffic management.
As of 2:09 p.m., the roadway was cleared and reopened to traffic. The exact cause of the crash is under investigation, and the condition of those injured has not yet been released.
Drivers experienced significant delays as traffic was diverted through the area.
