Major Oroville Car Accident on Highway 70, Middle Honcut Road
OROVILLE, Calif., (Sept. 17, 2026) — A major injury traffic collision involving multiple vehicles occurred late Thursday night on Highway 70 just north of Middle Honcut Road in Oroville, resulting in significant injuries.
The incident was reported on Sept. 16th at approximately 11:34 p.m., involving at least three vehicles. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the vehicles were mostly confined to the center divider, causing substantial debris on the roadway. The southbound lanes of State Route 70 were reportedly obstructed, prompting emergency services to respond swiftly to the scene.
Paramedics transported at least one person with major injuries to a hospital, but there are no further details.
Among the vehicles involved, one was identified as a black pickup truck. Emergency responders, including Butte County Fire Department, were dispatched around 11:40 p.m. to assist with the situation. Towing services, including ABC Nick’s Towing and Brower’s Towing, were contacted shortly thereafter to clear the scene, while authorities worked to manage the traffic and ensure the safety of all individuals involved.
The severity of the injuries has been classified as major, but further details regarding the victims, including their identities and conditions, have not been released at this time. Authorities are urging any witnesses to come forward as the investigation into the cause of the collision continues.
