Bicyclist Injured in Malibu Hit-and-Run on Pacific Coast Highway Near Leo Carrillo
MALIBU, CA (September 24, 2021) – A bicyclist was airlifted after a hit-and-run crash on Pacific Coast Highway near Leo Carrillo State Beach in Malibu.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the incident at about 12:21 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason in Malibu. The driver hit the cyclist on northbound Pacific Coast Highway, just north of the Leo Carrillo State Beach.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Mulholland Highway. They found the victim who sustained minor leg injury as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance took the patient to the UCLA Medical Center for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the bicyclist and then fled the area. Officers forced northbound Pacific Coast Highway to shut down near Leo Carrillo following the crash.
The cause of the Malibu hit-and-run collision is still under investigation.
