Truck Accident at Deer Creek Road and PCH
MALIBU, Calif. (May 15, 2019) — A 68-year-old man died when the water truck he was driving rolled off a hillside Wednesday at Deer Creek Road and Pacific Coast Highway.
The driver of the large 2012 Western water truck was slowly driving uphill when the man pulled over to allow other vehicles to pass. That’s when the truck rolled backwards and off a cliff where it overturned several times near the intersection about 9:02 a.m. on May 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol. A grey sedan was on the right shoulder near where the truck went over, but it’s unknown if it was involved in the crash or not. The Ventura County Fire Department responded to the scene as well as the coroner. There were no other people in the truck.
A heavy-duty tow truck was required to remove the truck.
