Malina Golphin, 34, Killed in Oakland Car Crash on Grand Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (October 25, 2021) – Malina Golphin was killed after a car crash on Grand Avenue in Oakland.
Authorities identified the 34-year-old Hayward woman as one of the victims in the fatal collision which took place on Sunday.
The incident began when Malina Golphin was driving a 2018 Toyota Prius which entered the 3300 block of Grand Avenue from the east side in Oakland. She then tried to go southbound.
At the same time, a 2020 Audi Q5 was going north while a 2015 Mazda CX53 was traveling south. Oakland police said in the process, Malina Golphin hit the Toyota.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The impact then pushed the Prius into the Mazda CX53. The East Bay Times wrote that the accident occurred on October 24 at about 2:02 a.m. in the Grand Lake district.
Malina Golphin died at the scene of the crash. Her passenger, a 33-year-old woman, sustained severe injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics rushed her to a hospital in critical but stable condition.
The two 33-year-old women riding Mazda and the driver of the Audi, a 25-year-old man, survived with non-life-threatening injuries. Medical personnel soon took them for treatment.
