STANTON, California (October 10, 2016) — A 23-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning when he was struck by a car as he attempted to cross Beach Boulevard, according to the Orange County Register.
The fatal crash took place about 1:20 a.m. in the morning. The man was not walking in a marked crosswalk when an oncoming 2015 Nissan Infiniti hit him, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. The man died of his injuries at the scene of the crash.
The driver was headed northbound on Beach Boulevard when the impact occurred near Katella Avenue.
The driver stopped and remained at the scene where police interviewed them about the sequence of events.
Police are investigating the collision and will determine liability.

There were 165 people killed and 13,837 injured in 2013 Orange County traffic accidents, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide integrated Traffic Report. Two people were killed in Stanton and 113 were injured including one pedestrian death and 15 injuries, the CHP statistics report said.
