Man, 25, Killed in Crash on 10 Freeway, Grand Avenue in West Covina

WEST COVINA, Calif. (May 26, 2026) — Jose Lucero Isidoro, 25, died in a three-vehicle crash early Monday on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway, just west of Grand Avenue in West Covina.

The Memorial Day collision was reported around 3:13 a.m. on the eastbound 10 Freeway, just west of the Grand Avenue off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officials said the crash involved two sedans and a utility truck. A witness told CHP that one of the vehicles was severely crushed.

The young man was pronounced dead at the scene and was later identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Jose Lucero Isidoro.

Video from the scene showed extensive damage to a white sedan in the middle lanes, while a utility truck appeared to have crushed the rear of a dark-colored Tesla.

The crash prompted a full closure of all eastbound lanes around 3:20 a.m. as CHP officers investigated and crews worked to clear the wreckage. Caltrans was requested to install barricades to shut down traffic through the area.

Authorities reopened the carpool lane shortly after 4:30 a.m., and all lanes were cleared by approximately 6:31 a.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
