Man, Dogs Killed Pedestrian Accident 5th Street and Hill Street in Downtown LA

Fatal Hit-and-run Crash in Downtown LA

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Sept. 29, 2022) — A man and his three dogs died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident Thursday morning near West 5th Street and South Hill Street in downtown Los Angeles.

The collision occurred about 12:20 a.m. on Sept. 29th near the downtown intersection, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and KTLA News.

A driver in an SUV struck the victim and his dogs as they walked through a large crosswalk. All four of them died at the scene of the crash. The man is believed to be between 25 and 35 years old, police said.

However, the motorist attempted to flee, but instead crashed into a few parked vehicles near 7th Street and Hill Street, police said.

Authorities arrested the suspect and are heading up an investigation into what happened. Police believe that alcohol was a factor for the driver in the crash.

Investigators are working on the case.
