The accident took place about 5:20 p.m. near F Street.
As per the article, police said a 62-year-old Chula Vista man was walking across Fourth Avenue mid-block when he was struck by a 2007 Chevy Silverado.
The Chevy was going south when it hit the victim.
The man was found unconscious following the crash. He was then transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Alcohol did not appear to have played a role in the incident which remains under investigation.
