LAPD Officers Involved in Jefferson Park Crash
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (June 24, 2024) – A driver was critically injured in a crash involving an LAPD patrol vehicle Sunday on Adams Boulevard in the Jefferson Park area.
Three people were hurt in the traffic accident that occurred at around 5:57 p.m. Sunday at Adams Boulevard and Gramercy Place, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and the Los Angeles Times.
Both the police patrol vehicle and the civilian driver were traveling eastbound on Adams Boulevard. The civilian driver reportedly turned left and the police vehicle crashed into it, authorities said.
The man driving the car was critically injured and hospitalized. Meanwhile, both police officers were also taken to a hospital in stable condition.
The police cruiser reportedly had its flashing lights and siren on at the time of the collision. However, it’s unknown at this time if the police vehicle was making an unsafe pass at the time of the collision with the civilian driver.
However, investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Adams Boulevard involving the LAPD vehicle.
