Man Killed in Crash at American and Buttonwillow Avenues Near Reedley
Woman Seriously Injured in Fresno County Collision
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (June 5, 2025) — Efrain Lara Jr., 28, of Farmersville, died and another driver was hospitalized with serious injuries Thursday morning following a crash involving two vehicles at American and Buttonwillow avenues near Reedley in Fresno County.
The traffic accident occurred around 7 a.m. on June 5th at the intersection, just north of Reedley, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch log.
Two-Vehicle Traffic Accident Turns Deadly
A 64-year-old woman in a westbound silver Toyota Prius traveling on American Avenue reportedly pulled out in front of a northbound Honda driven by Efrain Lara Jr., traveling along Buttonwillow Avenue. The two vehicles collided head-on, and both had major front-end damage.
Paramedics responded and confirmed the death of the man from the white sedan at the scene. Authorities say the young man was not wearing a seatbelt. Meanwhile, the woman driver suffered major injuries and she was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno.
Investigators are working on the case.
