Man, 39, Victim in Oceanside Hit-and-Run
According to the San Diego Coroner, a deadly hit-and-run collision caused the death of a pedestrian man Friday evening, May 5th, at the 1100 block of Mission Avenue.
Authorities reported the collision to have taken place at 9:40 p.m. just west of I-5 when a 39-year-old Oceanside man was crossing the street before being struck by two vehicles.
A Ford pickup truck initially struck the victim followed by a second vehicle whose driver did not stop and pull over.
The victim who remains unidentified sadly suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford determined to have not been under the influence and was cooperative with police officials following the incident.
The second driver had not been located as of Sunday morning as the Oceanside Police Department continues to investigate.
