MENDOCINO COUNTY, California (October 25, 2016) – A fatal DUI solo-car crash took place on Uva Drive late Sunday night, October 23, according to Ukiah Daily Journal.
The collision took place at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday was reported the next day at 8:30 a.m.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said 18-year-old Juan Rodriguez Silva was driving a 2006 Ford north on Uva Drive when he lost control of the car.
The Ford then ran off the road and slammed into a tree. A 19-year-old man riding as a passenger died at the scene.
The right rear occupant in the car, 20-year-old Miguel Garcia Jr., sustained minor injuries and declined to be treated. Silva was seriously injured and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
All three were Willits residents.
Meanwhile, Silva was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. The investigation is ongoing.
