Major Injury Traffic Collision on Waterloo Road, Stockton
STOCKTON, Calif. (September 2, 2026) — An elderly man riding a bicycle sustained major injuries Wednesday in a traffic accident involving a car on Waterloo Road and North Sunset Avenue in Stockton.
The incident occurred on Sept. 2nd at approximately 12:49 PM when the cyclist was reportedly struck by an unidentified vehicle, according to authorities. Both lanes at the intersection were blocked initially, but traffic was later able to squeeze through as emergency services responded to the scene.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the Stockton Fire Department was notified and dispatched to the scene at 12:51 PM. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the incident, as indicated by their units being at the scene shortly after the collision.
The injured cyclist was transported to a local trauma center for treatment of his injuries. His current condition is unknown at this time.
The details surrounding the vehicle involved remain unclear, and the incident is under investigation. Authorities are urging any witnesses to come forward to assist in their investigation.
