Man Riding Tricycle Killed in Car Crash on Avenue 120 Near Road 144

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (July 21, 2026) — A man riding a tricycle was killed early Tuesday morning after being struck by a pickup truck on Avenue 120 east of Road 144 in the Pixley area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 5:22 a.m. on July 21, 2026, according to the CHP officials. Police officers from the CHP Visalia station responded to the 911 call and located the injured man believed to be in his 50s, down in the roadway.

The victim had been riding his tricycle in a westbound traffic lane on Avenue 120 in a very dark area, and his bike and clothing had no safety or reflective equipment.

Meanwhile, a driver in a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling in the same direction on Avenue 120. The front of the truck collided with the rear of the tricycle, and the victim was thrown off into the roadway.

Paramedics arrived, but were unable to save the injured cyclist who died at the scene. Meanwhile, the pickup driver cooperated with detectives and the investigation.

Authorities do not suspect alcohol and drugs were factors in the crash.
