SONOMA COUNTY, CA (January 16, 2022) – Authorities detained Manessis Alexander after a fatal DUI crash on Highway 116 in Sonoma County.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 24-year-old Novato man was under the influence of drugs when the wreck occurred on Sunday.
The incident began when Manessis T. Alexander was driving a 2017 Cadillac recklessly west on Highway 116 in Sonoma County. At the same time, an Infiniti SUV and a 2016 Ford F-350 were going east.
CHP said Manessis Alexander crossed over solid double yellow lines, passing other vehicles. He then bounced off and struck the Infiniti, just west of Watmaugh Road.

A passenger in the Cadillac, a 16-year-old boy, died at the scene. Manessis Alexander and another 16-year-old boy riding with him suffered severe injuries as a result of the crash.
A helicopter took the boy to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment. A ground ambulance rushed him to the Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa.
The other two drivers, a 56-year-old Mill Valley woman and a 63-year-old Napa man, survived with minor injuries. Paramedics treated them at the site.
