PALA, Calif. (June 5, 2023) – Manh Bangvan Nguyen, 65, of Fountain Valley, died a week ago in a crash in Pala on State Route 76 and Magee Road.
The deadly crash occurred around 9:10 p.m. on Monday, May 29th, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
The collision involved multiple vehicles in the rural area of Pala, just east of Fallbrook.
Manh Nguyen was reportedly driving a Lexus sedan westbound on State Route 76 near the Pala Casino, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner. Meanwhile, a driver in a Toyota sedan was heading eastbound at the same time.
The driver of the Toyota apparently lost control of the vehicle and veered into westbound traffic lanes where the car hit the Lexus sedan head-on. Additionally, a Jeep SUV travelling westbound behind the Lexus also hit Manh Nguyen’s vehicle.
Someone called for help and police and fire personnel responded. Sadly, the driver from the Lexus died at the scene and several others suffered injuries.
Finally, the CHP closed down a portion of State Route 76 near Magee to investigate the crash.
