Manuel Correia, 83, ID’d as Suspect in Tulare Fatal DUI Crash
TULARE, CA (March 14, 2022) – Authorities detained Manuel Correia after DUI crash that killed a teenage pedestrian in Tulare.
Police determined that the 83-year-old Tulare was under the influence of alcohol when the collision took place on Sunday.
The incident began when Manuel Correia was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado in the area of Blackstone Street and Martin Luther King Jr Avenue in Tulare.
At the same time, a 17-year-old Porterville girl and another teen pedestrian were crossing the street. Police said in the process, the pickup truck hit the teens.

The victims sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed them to a hospital, where the 17-year-old died.
Medical personnel listed the other girl in critical condition. The ABC 30 News and FOX 26 News wrote that the accident occurred on March 13 at around 9 p.m.
Police said, a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck approached and then hit the victims. Both teens sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.

The Tulare DUI crash is still under investigation.
