Fatal DUI Collision at 6th Street and Promenade/Magnolia Avenue Thursday
Corona, CA (February 19, 2022) – Manuel Lopez, a 34-year-old man, died following a suspected DUI car crash that occurred in the area of 6th Street and Promenade/Magnolia Avenue.
According to Riverside County News Source, a 6th Street and Promenade/Magnolia Avenue drifted off the roadway and struck several fixed objects. Officials said the car came to a rest after slamming into a tree, resulting in significant damage.
The catastrophic incident took place on February 10, Thursday, around 7:10 p.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the site, they found the driver and passenger both with injuries. Paramedics rushed the two patients to the hospital for treatment. While receiving medical attention, the driver sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The several fixed objects identified the deceased as Manuel Lopez, of Riverside.
Meanwhile, the passenger remained at the hospital in unknown condition. Authorities continue to withhold the name of the injured passenger pending confirmation.
Investigators mentioned alcohol or drug intoxication possibly played a role in the unfortunate event. Detectives continue to work at this time to determine several unclear factors surrounding the deadly accident in Corona.
