Manuel Rodriguez Chavez Fatal Bakersfield Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (June 5, 2025) — Manuel Rodriguez Chavez, 64, died Saturday night in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on East Brundage Lane in Bakersfield.

The Bakersfield Police Department reported the crash in the 200 block of East Brundage Lane around 10:27 p.m. on May 31st, 2025.

The pedestrian was found in the roadway with major injuries, but despite efforts by paramedics he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Invetigators determined the man had been walking in the roadway when a westbound motorist struck him and fled the scene.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as Manuel Rodriguez Chavez.
