Manuel Antonio Sanchez Contreras, 23, Suspect in Orange Fatal DUI Crash
ORANGE, CA (July 18, 2021) – Authorities detained Manuel Sanchez Contreras after a fatal DUI crash in Orange.
Police determined that the 23-year-old Los Angeles man was under the influence when the wreck took place Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened when Manuel Antonio Sanchez Contreras was driving a Honda Accord at a high rate of speed in Orange.
At the same time, a Mazda Protege was in a left turn lane. The car was waiting to transition from northbound Main Street to westbound Sycamore Avenue.

The driver of the Mazda, an Orange man, died at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Police soon arrested the DUI speeding driver, Manuel Sanchez Contreras, on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
