Marc Rodriguez Evades After Fatal Car Accident on Stanislaus Street
Fresno, CA (May 13, 2021) – Police identified the suspect in the deadly car crash on Stanislaus Street as 31-year-old Marc Cain Rodriguez, according to Your Central Valley.
On May 12, Wednesday, a California Highway Patrol officer reportedly pulled over Marc Rodriguez in Chinatown. The article published online indicated the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) were tracking down a gang member wanted for several weapons violations. Marc Rodriguez was apparently a known gang member wanted on a felony warant on Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
Authorities said Marc Rodriguez failed to yield to the officer, and took off at a high rate of speed. For this reason, deputies on-duty launched a pursuit.
Deadly Hit-and-Run Car Crash in Fresno, May 12
When the chase approached the area of Stanislaus and N Street, Marc Rodriguez reportedly went against traffic. The Ford crashed into a BMW driven by a 19-year-old Clovis woman. Responding medical personnel performed life-saving measures to the BMW driver but she sadly succumbed to her injuries and died.
Meanwhile, Marc Rodriguez reportedly jumped out of his car and ran away following the catastrophic incident. Additional details on the hit-and-run suspect remained undisclosed.
The California Highway Patrol group is the agency handling the investigation of the pursuit. Meanwhile, local police officers investigate the horrible crash.
