Marcellino Castellano Killed in Elk Grove Hit-and-Run
ELK GROVE (August 7, 2017)- According to KCRA News, a deadly hit-and-run collision left a man dead and two others injured Sunday morning on I-5 north just south of Hood Franklin Road.
Authorities indicated that the collision occurred at precisely 4:38 a.m.
Robert Larocca and Severo Romero Injured Elk Grove Hit-and-Run
Marcelino Castellano, 68, of Lodi, was the driver of a vehicle accompanied by Robert Larocca, 76, and Severo Ramirez, 60. As Castellano proceeded along I-5 north, his vehicle was suddenly clipped from behind by a 2001 Mercedes Benz. The contact from the Mercedes forced Castellano’s vehicle through the center divider and across southbound traffic lanes before rolling over and landing on its roof top.
The collision tragically left Castellano with fatal injuries and both Ramirez and Larocca significantly injured with broken bones.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Mercedes tailed off the road causing the vehicle to be disabled. The driver took off on foot and fled the scene. Authorities have been able to confirm that the vehicle belongs to a 24-year-old identified as Tenley Johnson.
At this time, it remains unclear if Ms. Johnson was driving the vehicle or if someone else was behind the wheel. A thorough investigation will determine who is ultimately responsible.
