Police Arrests Driver, Passenger in Hit-and-Run Collision at Del Monte Street and Camino El Estero
Monterey, CA (June 8, 2021) – Marcelo Munoz Sixto, and Fidencio Lopez-Daniel were taken into custody in relation with a hit-and-run car crash in Monterey Sunday evening.
The KRON4 News reported 18-year-old Marcelo Sixto was driving a vehicle in the area of Del Monte Street and Camino El Estero. Due to the alleged intoxication of Marcelo Sixto, he collided with two other vehicles at the Monterey intersection.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m., emergency teams arrived at the location and found the suspect vehicle abandoned. Officials said the driver, and the passenger–21-year-old Fidencio Lopez-Daniel, both ran from the scene after the crash.
Police later located the hit-and-run suspects, and arrested them. The article published online mentioned officers arrested Marcelo Sixto on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury; driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08 percent; hit and run causing injury; and driving on a suspended license.
Meanwhile, officers took Fidencio Lopez-Daniel into custody for suspicion of public intoxication.

Authorities mentioned the occupants from the other vehicles involved in the wreck sustained minor injuries. Pending confirmation, the names of the victims and their condition at this time remained undisclosed.
