MARCH AIR RESERVE BASE, Riverside County (December 29, 2016) – A head-on crash occurred in the area of 6th Street and Meyer Drive on Thursday, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team. (map)
CHP said a black 2005 Honda Accord and a silver 2016 Nissan Versa collided head-on about 5:17 p.m.
As per the incident log, fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and initially reported that a total of five people were injured following the wreck. Two patients were transported to Riverside County Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
The names and condition of the victims at this time were not immediately available.
Meanwhile, the dispatch indicated that both cars sustained major front-end damage upon impact. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
