Woman Arrested DUI Charges Deadly Crash in Lake Elsinore
SANTA ANA, Calif. (August 15, 2022) — Margarita Rosales, 32, of Santa Ana, was arrested Saturday following a fatal crash on Lake Street at Lakeshore Drive in Lake Elsinore.
The two-vehicle crash occurred about 10:33 p.m. on Saturday, August 13th in the 29000 block of Lake Street, according to the Riverside County Fire and Sheriff’s Department. Police say that alcohol and speed are factors in the crash.

One person died at the crash scene and paramedics transported two others by ambulance to a hospital with minor to major injuries from the collision. Police did not release the names, gender or ages of the three people. Meanwhile, paramedics evaluated two other people at the scene, but one of them declined treatment.
The Santa Ana woman reportedly fled following the crash, but Riverside sheriff’s deputies arrested her a short time later.
Authorities arrested Margarita Rosales on suspicion of Manslaughter, hit-and-run and DUI before she was booked at the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.
