COACHELLA, California — 39-year-old Maria Alvarado was killed in a pedestrian accident on Interstate 10 freeway early Monday morning, according to an article by The Desert Sun.
As per the report, Alvarado was struck by a Chrysler 200 on the freeway near Dillon Road at 3:20 a.m. on March 6.
Officials said the female pedestrian was pronounced dead at 3:49 a.m. and they are still determining why Alvarado was on the interstate.
Meanwhile, police affirmed the Chrysler driver, briefly described as a 57-year-old Lake Havasu City man, stopped following the collision and reported the crash.
Investigation is still underway.
