DUI Suspect, Ricardo Dawkins, 44, Dies at Hospital

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (June 17, 2025) — Maria Alvarado, 25, died in a head-on crash on Father’s Day involving a suspected DUI driver whose SUV crossed into her path at Green Tree Boulevard and Hesperia Road.

SUV, Car Collide in Head-on Collision

The two-vehicle collision occurred at about 4:53 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, 2025, according to a report by Victor Valley News Group.

The young woman died at the scene and the suspected DUI driver identified as Ricardo Dawkins, 44, died at the hospital. The man was reportedly driving westbound in a Cadillac Escalade SUV when his vehicle veered into oncoming traffic and collided with the eastbound Acura sedan.

The Victorville Fire Department responded and located the woman driver with major injuries, but sadly, the she died on scene.

Investigators believe the driver of the Cadillac was DUI at the time of the collision.
