Maria Arcemiranda, 38, ID’d as Suspect in San Jacinto DUI Crash on State Street
SAN JACINTO, CA (March 7, 2022) – Officers detained Maria Arcemiranda after a DUI crash on State Street in San Jacinto.
Deputies determined the 38-year-old woman was under the influence of alcohol when the collision took place on Sunday night.
The incident happened when Maria Mercedes Arcemiranda was driving a dark gray Honda Civic coupe south on North State Street in San Jacinto.
At the same time, a red Toyota Prius hatchback was going north. Officers said Maria Arcemiranda lost control of her car and then went across the roadway.
Her Honda jumped the center median and struck the Toyota head-on. The two cars crashed just south of West Community College Way.
1 Seriously Injured in Wreck
Both vehicles obtained major front-end damage due to the impact of the collision. The male driver of the Prius ended up trapped inside his car as a result of the accident.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and freed him from the wreckage. The Riverside County News Source wrote that the wreck occurred on March 6 shortly before midnight.
The victim sustained serious injuries following the collision. Paramedics rushed him to the Riverside University Health System in Moreno Valley for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and his condition at this time. Meanwhile, officials added that Maria Arcemiranda survived the crash with minor injuries.
Medical personnel took her to a hospital for further aid. Officers soon arrested Maria Arcemiranda for DUI and providing false information to a peace officer.
They booked her into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning. The San Jacinto DUI crash is still under investigation.
