Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif. (August 16, 2024) – Maria Concepcion Martinez, 53, of Long Beach, died in a crash on Pacific Coast Highway and Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at 12:15 a.m. on August 16th, according to the Long Beach Police Department and the Patch.
Also, both drivers and three other passengers were treated for injuries following the collision.
The Long Beach Police Department responded and determined a 24-year-old Los Angeles woman driving a 2017 Mazda 6 was traveling towards Atlantic Avenue in the westbound lanes of PCH.
Meanwhile, a 63-year-old Long Beach man was heading northbound on Atlantic Avenue in a 2007 Toyota Scion when the Mazda broadsided his vehicle.
It’s unknown at this time which vehicle had the right-of-way at the time of the traffic accident.
The Long Beach Fire Department responded and confirmed the death of Maria Concepcion Martinez at the crash scene.
Paramedics also transported at least three passengers and the driver of the Scion to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the Mazda was also treated for minor injuries.
