Maria Garcia Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Sept. 28, 2018) — Maria Garcia, 72, of Bakersfield, has been identified as the pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle late Friday morning at the intersection of River Boulevard and Noble Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol reported the woman who was hit suffered major injuries in the 11:57 a.m. crash at the intersection.
The 911 report stated the woman was down in the roadway and bleeding. Paramedics were sent to the scene to transport the injured woman to a hospital where she died later that day.
The crash remains under investigation by police.

There were very few details provided in the report about what happened. It’s unclear whether or not the driver stopped and remained at the scene, however, the report did not say it was a hit-and-run.
