Maria Garcia, 72, Killed in Bakersfield Crash on River Boulevard
BAKERSFIELD (October 1, 2018) – An elderly pedestrian severely injured after a traffic accident along River Boulevard last week Friday has died, according to The Bakersfield Californian and Bakersfield Now.
The coroner’s office identified the deceased as 72-year-old Maria Garcia, of Bakersfield.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said Garcia was walking across River Boulevard near Noble Elementary School when for an unknown reason she was struck by a car.

The woman suffered major injuries, including head trauma and internal injuries upon impact. The collision took place on September 28 at about 11:56 a.m., south of Noble Avenue.
CHP affirmed that Garcia was then immediately taken to Kern Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, the driver of the car involved stopped after hitting the victim and cooperated with the authorities. The incident remains under investigation.
