The solo-vehicle accident took place at 5:30 a.m., south of the Rose Bowl.
As per the article, police said a 2007 Ford Edge slammed into a light pole on Seco Street, between Rosemont and Lincoln avenues.
The passenger, a 52-year-old woman, was transported to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver of the Ford at the time, 38-year-old Javier Placencia Jr. was arrested was booked on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and with a bail set at $50,000.
The Pasadena man was reportedly unharmed. The investigation is ongoing.
