Maria Kritzberger, 57, Killed in Moreno Valley Crash on Heacock Street
MORENO VALLEY, CA (November 4, 2021) – Maria Kritzberger was killed after a head-on crash on Heacock Street in Moreno Valley.
The coroner’s office identified the 57-year-old Moreno Valley man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Thursday morning.
The incident began when Maria Kritzberger was driving a silver Toyota Camry north on Heacock Street in Moreno Valley. At the same time, a red Kia Optima was going south.
Deputies said the driver of the Kia fell asleep and drifted into the northbound lanes. In the process, the Optima slammed head-on into the Toyota.
Driver Falls Asleep, Hits Another Car
The Press Enterprise wrote that the two cars crashed at around 5:45 a.m. near Revere Place. The Camry obtained major damage upon impact.
Maria Kritzberger ended up trapped inside her vehicle as a result of the crash. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and extricated her from the wreckage.
They pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the motorist in the Kia sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient to the hospital for treatment. Officers forced a stretch of Heacock Street to shut down for a time following the wreck.
