Woman Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash is Identified
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (June 8, 2021) – Maria Rodriguez Benitez, 47, of Sacramento, died Saturday in a two-vehicle crash at Florin Road and Watt Avenues in Sacramento.
Additionally, the collision happened about 5:20 a.m. at the Sacramento intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Maria Rodriguez Benitez Killed in Sacramento Accident
The drivers involved were a black Toyota Corolla and a tan Toyota Camry, police said. However, it’s unknown at this time what led to the accident. Firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene near the United States Postal Service. Sadly, Maria Rodriguez Benitez suffered major injuries and died at the scene of the collision. Furthermore, the Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner later identified the Sacramento woman on their website.
Meanwhile, CHP officers closed down the intersection of Florin and Watt to investigate the cause of the collision. The report does not mention if the other motorist was arrested or cited.
