Mariah Chaffin, 38, Jailed After Police Chase Ends in Collision at Acequia Avenue and Locust Street Monday
Visalia, CA (June 21, 2021) – Officers arrested 38-year-old Mariah Chaffin in relation with a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Noble Avenue and Tipton Street.
According to Your Central Valley, Mariah Chaffin stole an ambulance left running at the scene of a medical aid call. Authorities reportedly spotted the ambulance with its lights and sirens activated as it drove away from the intersection of Noble Avenue and Tipton Street.
Visalia police officers attempted to pull over the ambulance, but Mariah Chaffin failed to yield. The woman lead the officers to a chase.
The pursuit came to an end when the ambulance crashed into a police patrol vehicle and a separate ambulance. Per article published online, the multi-vehicle collision happened near Acequia Avenue and Locust Street at about 3:30 p.m.

Authorities later mentioned one officer sustained injuries as a result of the incident. Additional information on the injured party remained undisclosed.
Meanwhile, police reportedly took Mariah Chaffin into custody. The woman was later transported to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Once released from the hospital, officials will book the suspect into the Tulare County Jail on several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.
