Mariah Lujan, Iliana Urbina and Man Victims in Modesto Car Accident
MODESTO (September 18, 2018) – Four were seriously injured, including the alleged DUI driver, after a traffic collision along Carpenter Road Tuesday morning, according to The Modesto Bee.
The accident occurred at about 4:50 a.m. between West Hatch Road and West Whitmore Avenue.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said 24-year-old Charysteena Urbina was driving a white 1999 Saturn 4-door sedan north on Carpenter Road approaching Hatch Road when she entered the southbound lane.
The Saturn then drove into the path of a red 1994 Chevy Silverado pickup. The two vehicles ultimately collided head-on.
The truck went off the west edge of the road while the sedan ended up on Carpenter upon impact. The drivers of the two cars were extricated from the wreckage.
DUI Driver Charysteena Urbina Under Arrest
CHP affirmed that the motorist in the Silverado, a 42-year-old Modesto man, was rushed to Memorial Medical Center with critical injuries. His name and condition at this time remained unknown.
Urbina and her two passengers, 23-year-old Mariah Lujan and 20-year-old Iliana Garcia Urbina, all suffered major injuries in the wreck. Lujan, of Ceres, was taken to Doctors Medical Center while Garcia Urbina, of Modesto, was transported to Memorial for treatment.
Meanwhile, Urbina was brought to Doctors Medical Center and was reportedly placed under arrest. She will be facing DUI charges once released from the hospital.
