DUI Driver Mariana Ramirez, 27, Hits Multiple Cars in Clovis Crash
CLOVIS, CA (May 9, 2021) – Authorities detained Mariana Ramirez after a DUI crash at East Shaw and Sunnyside avenues in Clovis.
Police determined that the 27-year-old Dinuba woman was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck occurred on Saturday afternoon.
The incident happened when Mariana Ramirez collided with five other vehicles with her car in Clovis. Police said they crashed at the intersection of East Shaw and Sunnyside avenues.
Multiple vehicles obtained damages as a result of the collision. The Fresno Bee and Your Central Valley wrote that officers reported the accident on May 8 at about 1:38 p.m.
Several Injured in Collision at Shaw and Sunnyside
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found several people who ended up hurt following the wreck. The victims complained of pain due to the impact of the collision.
Medical personnel then took one patient to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police arrested Mariana Ramirez on suspicion of DUI with injury. They soon booked her into the Fresno County Jail.
Officers forced eastbound Shaw and northbound Sunnyside to shut down after the accident. The Clovis DUI crash is still under investigation.
