
Rosa Clavel Among 3 Killed; Driver Arrested DUI
MODESTO, Calif. (Sept. 28, 2023) — Sisters, Marianne Clemons, 67, of Patterson and Pamela Cross, 64, of Modesto, were among three people killed in a crash Sept. 28th on Highway 132, also known as Maze Boulevard in Modesto.
A third woman, Rosa Clavel, 44, of Modesto, also died in the crash. She was riding as a passenger in a 2010 Lexus RX350 whose driver was allegedly speeding when the vehicle crashed head-on into the Hyundai occupied by the two sisters.
Wyatt Ervin Gordon, 49, who was driving the Lexus, reportedly swerved to the left and entered the westbound lane and hit the other vehicle. He survived the crash and the other three died.
The collision occurred at around 7:25 a.m. on Sept. 28th just west of Paradise Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the Lexus landed in a field and overturned.
Paramedics responded to the scene to help those injured in the crash. Sadly, the three women died following the accident.
Driver Faces DUI and Vehicular Manslaughter Charges
The CHP reported that Wyatt Gordon was the only survivor of the crash.
Later, he was arrested and charged with three counts of felony manslaughter with gross negligence and three felony counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing injury.
Wyatt plead not guilty to all charges and is being held in the Public Safety Center, in lieu of $600,000 bail, the Modesto Bee reports.
