Maricela Silva ID’d Oxnard Boulevard Fatal Pedestrian Accident
OXNARD, Calif. – Maricela Silva has been identified as the 32-year-old Oxnard woman who was struck and killed Friday night in a pedestrian accident on Oxnard Boulevard, just south of Robert Grant Avenue, according to KYET News.
The fatal crash took place about 9:25 p.m. when a 67-year-old Santa Paula woman driving north on Oxnard Boulevard struck the victim with her white 2005 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck. The victim had been attempting to cross Oxnard Boulevard, just south of Robert Grant Avenue. Paramedics responded and rushed the injured woman to Ventura County Medical Center where she later died of her injuries.
The pickup truck driver stopped and was questioned by police about what happened. There were no known arrests or citations made.
This was the second fatal crash in the Oxnard area over the weekend.
Traffic Accident Investigation
At this time, we do not know if any criminal charges will be made against the driver. Police are investigating the circumstances to determine fault.
