1 Killed, Multiple Others Injured in Accident near Imjin Parkway
MARINA (August 13, 2017) – One person was killed, and several others were injured in a traffic collision on southbound Highway 1 Friday evening, according to Kion 5/46.
Initial investigations revealed a 35-year-old man driving a Hyundai made an unsafe turn, driving from the right shoulder and moving into the southbound traffic lanes. The Hyundai veered perpendicularly on the highway and went into the path of another car.
The front-end of the second car then broadsided the Hyundai, forcing the later to cross into the center median. Subsequently, a third car swerved to the left shoulder of the highway in an attempt to avoid collision but still hit the Hyundai, the California Highway Patrol group said.

The accident took place just south of Imjin Parkway at approximately 11:30 p.m.
When paramedics arrived at the scene, the Hyundai driver was already deceased.
Meanwhile, other people involved in the crash were transported to hospitals with minor to moderate injuries. Authorities are still determining how many were hurt, as per the article.
At this time, no charges have been made relating to the collision.
