Motorcyclist Killed in Bonsall DUI Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 76
BONSALL (January 3, 2019) – A Camp Pendleton U.S. Marine was arrested after an alleged DUI crash that killed a motorcyclist along Highway 76 on New Year’s Day, according to San Diego Union-Tribune and Patch.
The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Private Marine Adam Daniel Barooshian. He is from Massachusetts.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said Barooshian was driving a Lexus IS 300 east in the westbound lanes of the highway when he struck a Suzuki two-wheeler motorcycle head-on.
The Marine was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision on Tuesday, January 1, at around 3:54 a.m. near Via Monserate.

CHP affirmed that the male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, Barooshian was transported to Palomar Medical Center with scratches on his body. He was placed under arrest after officials determined he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the wreck.
He was later booked into county jail in Vista on suspicion of murder and DUI resulting in bodily injury. Records show that he had been previously convicted of a DUI.
The incident remains under investigation.
