Teenager Killed in Hit-and-run Crash; Suspect Arrested on DUI, Hit-and-run Charges
CHINO HILLS (Jan. 25, 2018) – Marinel Ladores, 17, of Chino Hills was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident at Chino Avenue and Peyton Drive on Saturday Jan. 20, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
The collision was reported at about 7:20 p.m.
Paramedics responding to the scene transported the injured girl to the hospital where she later died at 7:54 p.m., the coroner said.
Later, police arrested Talia Guadalupe Arias Simental, 23, of Pomona who they believe was the driver whose Nissan Pathfinder hit the teen. The suspect is also being investigated for a possible DUI. The vehicle had sustained major front-end damage consistent with hitting a pedestrian.
She was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, with bail set at $100,000.
